#Audiophile grade custom speaker design for @martyn

We were approached by a very discerning customer requesting #design work and #manufacture advice for an audiophile grade custom speaker. With his specification in mind, Major Engineering Ltd #MEL advised the best way forward, and then produced models, renderings, and a configured drawing pack ready for CNC machining. A fascinating job – best of luck with the rest of the build!

#SolidWorks #toptip – creating closed off region with complex curves

When dealing with complex curves (such as aerofoils), one may see unexpected behaviour when trying to create a closed region. You insert an offset line perhaps (making two complex curves), close off the area with carefully positioned small lines, trim where necessary (normally a useful check in itself), and all seems well. Even when doing a “Select Chain” and checking the sketch relations, everything appears correct and present. Alas, the region cannot be used for an extrusion, loft, or any other similar feature operation, with SolidWorks insisting that the region is not closed. Get around the problem by closing the region with excessive overlapping lines, trim it back, and then it should work. Hope this helps somebody!

#REMAP scooterboard job completed and delivered #jobdone #charity

REMAP clients with developmental delay and autism find scooterboards useful in helping to develop their core and upper limb strength.

Here we have two large all red scooterboards designed for use by young children, and a smaller car-themed blue scooterboard for the even younger client. They are all rugged in their design, being able to support a large amount of weight. They feature rubberised tyres making them useable on a variety of surfaces, plus an all-round padded bumper to protect furniture and walls. The carpet on the smaller scooterboard is removable and machine washable.
